Description
The carriage is carrying passengers who have just arrived on the steamboat Mineola, which is just barely visible at the end of the wharf. The handwriting on the photograph is that of Walter Wotton, co-owner of the wharf.
The Mineola brought passengers and cargo from Rockland to the north and from Portland to the south, with connecting lines to New York City.
